King Croc is an early Marsh wall. Its main role is progression: its scales are the key that opens the Arctic Plains, so it sits between the starter zones and the Quincy/late-game content.

How to reach King Croc and unlock Arctic Plains
King Croc is the hinge of an early progression chain. Do it in this order:
- Craft a Respirator (Gas Mask) before Level 30. The Marsh poisons you without it, so you cannot fight King Croc safely until it is equipped.
- Enter the Marsh. The swamp biome sits off the Soul Society Outskirts in the Precipice direction.
- Beat King Croc and bank the King Crocodile Scales. Store the Scales rather than dropping them — they are a required progression item.
- Take the Scales to the Gatekeeper at Precipice. Once you reach the required level, hand the Scales over to unlock the Arctic Plains.
That Arctic Plains unlock is the whole reason most players fight King Croc, since it is the gateway to the Quincy Schrift route and later zones.
How to beat King Croc
- Do not greed melee strings. Land two hits, then reset — long combos get punished by its swings.
- Q-dodge the yellow / delayed attacks. Spot-dodge instead of trying to tank the slow telegraphed hits.
- Parry the last hit of a string. Wait out the chain and parry the final swing rather than the first.
- Break posture, then commit. Open your strongest punish window only after a posture break.
Exact HP and named attacks are not documented yet, so play it as a spacing fight: come in at Level 30+ with one focused damage tree and enough Reserves to stay armed. Named patterns will be added here once confirmed in-game.

Bank the Scales immediately after the kill; losing them means re-fighting before you can progress.
Known limits
Use the Respirator requirement and King Crocodile Scales → Arctic Plains route as the core progression path. The Statue Mystery Strength Extract connection is less consistent across player routes, so do not farm King Croc for that item unless your current quest step points you there. Exact HP, drop rates and respawn timing are not listed.
