Spirit Alloy
Spirit Alloy is described as a "special metal with spiritual properties." Unlike Soul Essence, it is a crafted intermediate material — you cannot find it on enemies. How to unlock and craft Spirit Alloy
This is the gate for the recipe quest.
The same village that houses the Bank Representative. Find the NPC named Hokuchi, standing against one of the Torii gate pillars.

The Respirator is the most important use: it lets you safely enter the Marsh biome without taking poison damage, and it is essential for Shinigami, Quincy and Hollow progression past Level 25.
