VV ULTIMATUM Statue Mystery quest
The Statue Mystery is the puzzle of the three statues near Sweetwater Pass. Each needs an Extract — Intelligence, Strength and Courage — dropped by three different bosses. Fill all three and a shrine activates that lets you refund skill points. Here is the full step-by-step walkthrough.
How the quest starts
The Statue Mystery is formally part of the early "Humble Beginnings" questline. The trigger NPC stands near Sweetwater Pass with a yellow quest marker — meaning it is an important, non-main-story quest. Talk to him and he asks you to investigate three statues/shrines nearby, each of which is waiting for an Extract.
The three Extracts and their bosses
| Extract | Boss | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Intelligence | Gelum (tutorial boss) | At/near Fort Adams, early main questline — guaranteed drop |
| Strength | King Croc (Crocodile King) | Swamp / Marsh area — needs a Respirator to survive |
| Courage | Masked Warrior (3-phase world boss) | Spawns at higher levels — the hardest of the three |
Step-by-step walkthrough
He explains the three statues want the Intelligence, Strength and Courage Extracts.
Defeat Gelum, the tutorial boss near Fort Adams. It is a guaranteed drop from the first main questline.
Defeat King Croc in the Marsh. You need a Respirator to survive the Marsh's poison, so craft Spirit Alloy first.
Defeat the Masked Warrior, a three-phase world boss that spawns at higher levels. This is the toughest fight of the three.
Return to the statues, hold each Extract in your hand and walk up to a shrine to deposit it. The order does not matter.
With all three placed, a portal/shrine activates in the middle of the statue area. Interact with it to use its function and turn the quest in.
Is there a code or riddle?
No. There is no numeric code and no riddle. The "mystery" is purely figuring out which boss drops each Extract and placing all three. Some short guides only mention "placing the Courage item from the tutorial boss" — that is an incomplete description covering one Extract; you need all three Extracts from all three bosses to finish the quest.
Rewards
| Reward | Detail |
|---|---|
| Outskirts Shrine access | Refund one skill in your skill tree for full skill points back — great for re-speccing a build |
| Title: "Shrine Seeker" | Cosmetic title unlocked the first time you use the shrine |
| Achievement + daily box | Turning the quest in grants an achievement, which gives a daily rewards box |
The shrine is not single-use — it appears to be a permanent interactable you can return to for skill refunds, though whether it has a cooldown or cost per use is unconfirmed as of June 7, 2026.
Level and progression requirements
- Quest trigger: no minimum level — the NPC is reachable whenever you pass through Sweetwater Pass.
- Intelligence Extract: early game, no level gate (tutorial boss).
- Strength Extract: needs Marsh access via the Respirator (roughly Level 17–27 quest chain to unlock).
- Courage Extract: the Masked Warrior is a world boss treated as a late-early / mid-game target; no confirmed numeric level requirement.
- Faction restriction: unconfirmed — no guide locks any race out; all three pass through Sweetwater Pass naturally.
