VV: ULTIMATUM Shinigami guide

The VV: ULTIMATUM Shinigami is the sword faction: wield a customizable Zanpakutō, unlock Meditation at Level 25, solve the inner-world bell puzzle and earn your Shikai. This Shinigami guide covers the full unlock path, the bell puzzle answers and every confirmed Shikai.

How to unlock Meditation & Shikai (Shinigami)

Reach Level 25

Complete main-story and Soul Society missions until you hit Lv 25.

Start Meditation

Equip your Zanpakutō with X, then press L. A green aura confirms Meditation has started.

Earn Shikai EXP from Spirit Whispers

Fight NPCs, PvP and missions. Short "Spirit Whisper" lines appear above your HP bar — press L the instant one appears to gain Shikai EXP.

Enter the white void & bell puzzle

After ~6–7 Whispers, meditating teleports you to a white void. Follow the blue orbs to the bells and answer the riddles (answers below).

Reach Level 35 and find the inner-world NPC

Clear the fog, grind to Lv 35, then find the Shikai NPC (no fixed spawn — explore your inner world).

Beat the 3-phase boss

The NPC fights you using your own kit, gains new moves, then regains 4 HP bars and switches weapon. Win to unlock your Shikai weapon.

Unlock the first Shikai ability

Get one more Whisper, meditate into the silhouette room, equip the sword (X + E) and interact with your Zanpakutō silhouette to unlock the ability.

Shinigami FAQ

Is Shinigami good in VV: ULTIMATUM?

Yes. Shinigami is a strong, flexible all-rounder with the deep Shikai system and access to control-oriented Kido. It's the recommended pick if you want the classic Bleach sword fantasy.

How long does it take to get Shikai?

Plan for a solid grind from Level 25 to 35 plus the inner-world boss. Lowering your power level and trading parries with NPCs is the fastest way to farm the Shikai EXP.

What's the best Shinigami build?

Speed plus Hakuda (or Speed plus Kido for control), a Shihoin clan, and charms like Heavenly Restriction with Adrenaline Junkie. See the builds page for the full setup.

Does Shinigami have Bankai?

Not yet. Bankai is unimplemented as of June 2026, so Shikai is the current Shinigami endgame.

Shinigami combat and Kido

Beyond the Zanpakutō, Shinigami have access to Kido — ranged binding and energy spells (the faction tree includes control tools like Sai, Rikujokoro and Hainawa). That gives Shinigami a flexible identity: pure sword pressure with your Shikai, or a Kido-control hybrid that locks enemies down before closing in. Speed underpins both, providing the Shunpo mobility to engage and disengage. It's this mix of melee, control and the deep Shikai system that earns Shinigami its reputation as the best all-round Bleach experience — and why it's a great pick if you can't decide between aggression and utility.
