VV Ultimatum Shikai Spirit boss guide
The Shikai Spirit is the Shinigami-only Inner World boss that unlocks your Shikai. This page focuses on the three fight phases, resource timing and what to do after the win.
Shikai Spirit at a glance
This is a progression boss, not a world spawn: it lives in your own Inner World and you reach it through the Shinigami meditation route, not from the map.
| Faction | Shinigami only |
| Location | Your Inner World instance, entered by meditating (press L) |
| Starts at | Level 25 (meditation route); fog clears at Level 35 |
| Structure | An easy intro fight first, then a three-phase boss once you have enough Shikai EXP |
| Reward | Unlocks your Shikai weapon form (one-time, not farmable) |
| Respawn | Instanced one-time encounter, not a timed spawn |
Before you start the boss
You need the Shinigami meditation route far enough along for the real Inner World fight to trigger. If you are still dealing with Whispers, bells or fog, that is an unlock-route blocker rather than a boss-strategy problem.
Once the three-phase encounter starts, use the phase plan below and save enough Reserves for the final regeneration swing.
The three phases
The first time you meet the spirit it is an easy intro fight. Once you have banked enough Shikai EXP, the real three-phase boss triggers:
| Phase | What happens | How to handle it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 — Base form | The spirit uses your own full kit: your skills and passives turned against you | It mirrors you, so play around your own cooldowns and punish windows |
| 2 — Revived | It revives and gains new unique attacks beyond your kit | Stop auto-piloting; watch for the new patterns before committing |
| 3 — Last stand | Below ~3 HP bars it regenerates 4 bars and swaps to a different weapon | Save burst and Reserves for this phase — do not blow everything in phase 1 |
Come in with levels, a focused tree and a full Reserves pool. Use the visible phase changes above; exact move names are omitted where the live encounter does not present a stable label.

Reward and unlocking your abilities
Beating the spirit unlocks your Shikai weapon form. To open up the full ability set, meditate again into the white void and interact with the silhouette of your Shikai weapon; that grants the Shikai abilities. You can reset them later with Ability Tokens.
This is a one-time progression reward, not a farmable drop, so there is no respawn timer to chase. After unlocking, keep building Shikai EXP to level the form up.
Known limits
The route sections cover meditation, Whispers, bells, fog and the three-phase Inner World fight. Exact boss HP, attack values and Shikai EXP thresholds are not listed because those numbers can change and are not reliably documented; follow the route triggers and visible fight cues instead.

Shikai Spirit FAQ
Where is the Shikai Spirit?
In your own Inner World, not on the map. Shinigami players reach it by meditating (press L) at Level 25 and following the Whispers, bells and fog route.
What level do I need?
Start the route at Level 25; the Inner World fog only clears at Level 35, so you need to be past that to reach the boss.
How many phases does it have?
Three: a base form that copies your kit, a revived form with new attacks, and a final phase that regenerates four HP bars and swaps weapons below ~3 bars.
What does beating it give me?
Your Shikai weapon form. Meditate again afterward and interact with the weapon silhouette in the white void to unlock the full Shikai ability set.
How do I farm Shikai EXP?
Lower your damage to ~25% and grind Bears in the Arctic Plains with a run, M1, block loop, meditating whenever a Whisper appears.
